It's slow, inefficient, and all hype : and no content. I hope it does just like beta. Get a clue. Java is not just all hype. It is popular because of hype, but if you knew ANYTHING about programming and actually tried it, you'd know how off base you are. Its slow because it is new. The technology is still in its infancy. : 2) MS has made computing easier. To install a prog in win95, u insert : the cd, and the install prog runs. Then you reboot, and you're off and running. Until it crashes. Then you reboot again and pick up where you left off, hoping you saved in time. : >Sheesh, give me a break from the "Goatboys" of the world who haven't : >been around long enough to support their theories...and who buy into : >Microsoft's BS about how great they are. : I don't need to be around as long as you to know that an OS designed : 25 years ago on computers with less than 64K RAM is easier to use than : one that was made on computers running at 200MHz and with 64MB RAM 4 : years ago (like NT). You *are* clueless, aren't you! First of all, he didn't say anything about ease-of-use in the paragraph you are rebutting. He said that people who don't know better blindly buy into the Microsoft propaganda. Then you said that UNIX is easier than NT because it is 25 years old. The UNIX in use today is not 25 years old. The UNIX you're thinking of is called MULTICS and was invented in Bell labs back in the early to mid 70's. No one uses that anymore. Furthermore, the same concepts that made it an effective OS on low end hardware scale beautifully to the higher hardware. Things like efficient I/O, paging, and process management. Unix was designed so you don't *need* a PPro200 to run it, although if you have one, it will outperform NT, because of the way it was designed. You need to do some more reading before you open your mouth and embarrass yourself again. Kev. -- Kevin Swan BCSH kevin@kombat.acadiau.ca Acadia University How's my posting?
