Hi All,

Recently I trashed my FreeBSD 2.1.5 box whilst trying something
adventurous.

I restored everything I'd bothered to backup.

I'm running named and have alised the 10.0.0.1 address to the lo0
device.

My routing table looks like this

Destination Gateway Flags Refs Use Netif
Expire
default 130.194.1.99 UGc 5 0 ppp0
10.0.0.1 10.0.0.1 UH 1 54 lo0
127.0.0.1 127.0.0.1 UH 0 1 lo0
130.194.1.89 130.194.1.99 UGHW 1 59 ppp0
130.194.1.99 130.194.1.99 UGHW3 0 5 ppp0
3598
130.194.1.100 130.194.1.99 UGHW3 0 16 ppp0
2600
130.194.10.65 10.0.0.1 UH 0 0 lo0
130.194.11.7 130.194.1.99 UGHW3 0 393 ppp0
3500

The default is created when I start pppd.

Whenever I try to finger the 10.0.0.1 address I keep getting a message :

finger: Permission denied.

The fingerd daemon is running without any flags.

Can someone direct me as to what I am missing ?

Thanx in advance.
