On both of my systems I get the same errors. The systems are FreeBSD 2.1.5 and 2.2Beta. First I create a new kernel with this option : pseudo-device ccd 4 #Concatenated disk driver and install the kernel and reboot the machine. Now I have the ccd0-3: Concatenated disk drive message at boot time. Then I do a MAKEDEV in the /dev/ directory. Now I try : ccdconfig ccd0 32 0 /dev/sd1s1 /dev/sd2s1 ccdconfig /dev/ccd0 32 0 /dev/sd1s1 /dev/sd2s1 ccdconfig ccd0a 32 0 /dev/sd1s1c /dev/sd2s1e All time I get the message like this : cddconfig: open (CDDIOSET): /dev/ccd0c: Inappropriate file type or format or cddconfig: open (CDDIOSET): /dev/ccd0a: Inappropriate file type or format I have a file system on /dev/sd1s1c and /dev/sd2s1e and I am able to use it ! What is the solution ? Thanks Stephan
