I cross-compiled libc with GCC 2.3.2 from another machine, or at least
everything but ldexp.o (which tickles a bug), and successfully built
GCC 2.3.3. Rebuilding the library seems to have fixed the problem with
the floating point stack overflowing, so I suspect it was probably just
a bug in GCC 1.39 which caused it initially.

If there is interest, I will make binaries of libc and GCC available
for FTP. Note that GCC 2.3.3 has at least one bug which I know of--the
one which causes ldexp.c to not compile.
