I've encountered a strange problem with "ppp" under FreeBSD 2.2.1, and I'm
wondering if anyone else has seen this.

When I run ppp in command line mode, giving it the argument for the host that
I want it to dial, and type "dial", it brings up the link fine, first try.

When I run "ppp -background" with the same host argument, it just sits there
indefinitely.

Am I missing something obvious?
