I have tried both copying the fonts on the OSF Alpha ( the machine that it works for ) to a FreeBSD machine and also setting XFree86 to use a font server on the Alpha. While with both of these methods the extra fonts were picked up, java applets are still not displayed. From the responses that I've been getting [ namely, it works for me 8-) ], I think that the problem is due to the specific configuration of X on the FreeBSD machines we have. I attach our XF86Config file in case anyone is bored enough to check it. 8-) Please keep the suggestions coming...
