Since I've already received one query about where to look, the author of
the de driver, Matt Thomas, maintains a web site,
http://www.3am-software.com
where he describes the machinations required to make the latest incarnation
of his driver work under FreeBSD. Apparently he's adopted the if_media
extensions to the network interface structures which were proposed by the
BSDI folks to handle the vagaries of half/full and 10/100 base T networks.
Many thanks to Matt for providing this to the community at large!
