Tatsumi Hosokawa runs the PAO web page which is dedicated to FreeBSD
on laptops and his work on general laptop support for FreeBSD.

  http://www.jp.FreeBSD.org/PAO/

The Linux Laptop pages contain detailed information about hundreds of
laptops and notebooks running Linux (and Xfree86)

Plug "linux laptop" or "xfree86 laptop" into Yahoo and you will
find lots of other goodies.
