Hi all,

As a relative newby to FreeBSD (and Unix in general), any texts I can
lay my hands on to help me learn are well thumbed. I refer to the
"offline" texts (/usr/share/doc/FAQ & /usr/share/doc/handbook)
regularly, as well as giving the man pages a thorough workout. I also
give my ISP, Michael Butler (imb@asstdc.com.au) a "thorough workout"
at times, via email or phone, something for which I very very
appreciative.

I currently exist on two books - Unix Unleashed (SAMS Publishing) -
tends to be very generic, but is a handy reference, and considering
it's size (some 1600+ pages) makes a handy doorstop :-)

The other book which has been handy is Greg Leahy's Installing and
Running FreeBSD - thanks Greg! it's answered quite a few of my
questions in a lot easier to read fashion than Unix Unleashed.

I'm looking at purchasing Greg's other book, The Complete FreeBSD,
from Walnut Creek (I'm damned if I can find it anywhere her in Sydney,
Australia)

Can anyone give me any comments on it? I've seen comments about one
section that Greg got slightly wrong (xterm, page 99 I think it was) -
other than that, would it be a wortwhile purchase? I'm not really
worried about X Windows - my BSD box (a 386dx40 with 8MB) hasn't
really got the grunt to run it quickly enough

Any other suggestions about suitable books would also be well
recieved. I tend to like books more than file based references.

Thanks!!!

  Andrew
