Looking to wring some extra performance out of it I came across the async mount option. Does anyone have any advice on whether this options does indeed significantly boost IO performance (specifically for a news spool), and whether the potential for severe file system damage in the event of a crash is a likely scenario (which of course for a news spool is not as critical as most file systems)? /// Marcus Needham /// marcus@theriver.com \\\ VP & Webmaster \\\ The River, Tucson AZ USA, http://www.theriver.com/
