	The HORROR story.

System setup: P133; 100mb RAM; d1) 2.1gig IDE d2) 1.1 gig SCSI; etc.

d1) NT4.0; WIN95; DOS
d2) FreeBSD 2.2.1

  * Installed FreeBSD 2.2.1 on the SCSI drive (d2).

  * During the installation, we told it to install its boot manager on d2
the SCSI drive.

  * After completing the installation proceedure, we deselected our IDE
drive in our BIOS and booted into (d2) no problem. Everything worked
GREAT!

  * Selected our IDE drive in our BIOS and booted into (d1) no problem!
NT4.0; WIN95 and DOS where working GREAT!

[[[[ Here's when the NIGHTMARE began! ]]]]

After booting into the FreeBSD 2.2.1 on (d2), 3 time, its MBR migrated over
to our (d1) rendering our (d1) useless! Yes, MIRGRATE is the proper word!
We have not found anyone able to tell us how it found its way over to (d1);
Almost VIRUS like! shhhh!

We tring FDISK /MBR using a WIN95 / WINNT4 / DOS 4 / etc boot disk to try
to get back into our (d1) IDE drive but everything FAILED!

NO DRIVE LETTER
UNKNOWN FORMAT
DRIVE NOT READY

And other drive ERROR messages.

After 4 days of trying to get into (d1), the primary IDE drive, and
failing, we sent the drive away and spent over $1,300 dollars on DATA
RECOVERY!

[[[[ The GOOD News ]]]]

They were able to reconstuct/rebuild the entire drive with zero out of
19,000 files lost!
We lost over $1,300 in our bank account but learned a valuable lesson which
we could not put a price on!

		L E A R N F R O M O U R M I S T A K E !!!

...auto-migrating MBR [glitch / virus / one-time problem / ????] you pick
it and beware!
