Though Linux' smbfs emerged from the Samba sources, it's now independent from that: it' a kernel subsystem, and `smbmount' is just a user interface to it. However, I know there's an effort of a writing an smbfs implementation for NetBSD under way, but it's still pretty basic these days. -klaus
