Initially I could not install at all, then it installed but without X (the sysinstall utility has some bizarre quirks, repeating menus, etc). Then I had "internal compiler errors", now I cannot add X to the system. The Makefile specifies "xc" subdirectory under distfiles. I have my distfiles linked to the appropriate directory on the CD. The is *no* xc subdirectory there. Am I totally off my rocker here, or is this release seriously *&%@ed compared to some previous ones? I have never spent three days trying to install and configure FreeBSD before, and now I am not even close yet (and of course this happens when I really *need* to get this done quick). I kinda feel like an idiot battling with problems that have never even come up in the past. I have seen other posts complaining about strange (and similar to mine) problems. Has 2.2.1 been a bit rushed out the door? t. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tony Porczyk * tporczyk@infobound.com * San Jose, California GIT/ED d++$(!d) s++:++ a?
