Note: I am using FreeBSD 2.2.1-R I seem to have a problem when trying to compile any source code that is prepared to be compiled with gnu development tools. My current project is the experimentation with X11R6.3; though, this problem has occured with other source bundles. [truncated] gcc -o imake -m486 -O2 -fno-strength-reduce -pipe imake.o -L/usr/X11R6.3/lib -lgnumalloc ld: -lgnumalloc: no match *** Error code 1 Stop. I have downloaded and built the malloc library from the gnu archive on the cdrom.com archive. I placed the libmalloc.a file in the /usr/lib directory and executed ranlib on it. Undoubtedly I'm doing something wrong. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.
