I am seriously considering make a transition from BSD/OS to FreeBSD,
so I'm checking out as much as I can in the web pages, etc. One
thing which seems to be missing is the doscmd program, which
according to one of the documents on the web page is "slowly being
ported to FreeBSD".

I use doscmd mostly to run TurboC and related programs so that I
can cross-compile a few DOS programs. Could someone please let me
know what the status of the porting project is?
