I am therefore going to start a new thread. [.....] There's a "how long to lose carrier before hanging up" register somewhere on most modems (around S9 on USRs). This sometimes has a dumb default like .05 of a second. If you up that, your "lost line" problem may go away. If the other side is dropping (or your line is soooo bad that it won't stay up (snikker)), there's a new "set reconnect" directive in the -current version of ppp that you may be interested in. I'll back-port it to 2.2.whatevercomesnext when I'm sure there are no problems with it. -- Brian <brian@awfulhak.org> <brian@freebsd.org> <http://www.awfulhak.org> Don't _EVER_ lose your sense of humour !
