It is intended for games and multimedia. Intel has AFAIK not said it is good for anything else. And for what it is intended for, it actually do give a lot of speedup. Please only thow flames in Intels direction when they deserve it; otherwise, people get used to seeing the flames and don't notice when Intel actually get charred. (No, I don't like Intel either.)
