Any ideas on how to fix this? > I experience the same problem but can make subsequent logins more reliable by running kermit and doing a set line /dev/ttyd4 (it has the modem attatched) and leaving the machine like that. It seems as though this goes part way to keeping the port happy!! This allows someone to login regulary on this port. While work is being done by this person I am loath to make changes to the setup but I would like to know what is causing failure of the system to give the login prompt 2nd time round. system is 2.1 release off cdrom, on a P60 8Meg ram with a 'PCCOM' 4 port (Widoshi) serial card with 4 16550's. regards to all -- Steve Richards
