I recently received my 2.2.1-RELEASE FreeBSD CD, and installed the OS from scratch on my BSD box, eliminating the 2.1.0-RELEASE I had there before (I have backups of the data I really need to keep). I'm not a UNIX ace but I made it through the pain of getting the user-process PPP to work and dial up my ISP on FreeBSD 2.1.0-RELEASE, and I can get PPP to dial and connect with my ISP on 2.2.1-RELEASE, but I can't access the net ("no route to host"). It has been a while since I last tried to get PPP to work, so I wouldn't be surprised if I've forgotten something. Also, the html manual says that before you begin you need to have (amongst other things): * the IP address of the ISP's gateway * the range of IP adresses your allocated IP address falls in, if your ISP allocated addresses dynamically (which mine does) The manual does not, however, tell you what to do with these two bits of information. I also couldn't find the answer in the FAQs. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks for any help, Christoff Snijders
