It doesnt actually let you "switch" users though? It allows you to act as
another user... ie substituting your user with another for a period of
time... you are never -not- the original user, hence when you su to
another user you type exit and you are back the original.

That was another reason that I thought it stood for substitute...
definatly not super I think its been determined =)

(oh btw for the person that emailed me... should the man pages be
discounted as false? They are a part of linux and they are included with
every version I've had... (no offence just enquiring as to why you think
they are wrong?))
