In trying to install 2.2.1, i get a persistent failure with the
message cited above. I've never tried to install FBSD on this
machine, tho i've installed earlier releases on other machines
successfully and have installed SysV (Unixware) successfully on
this machine.

My setup is a 486/66 EISA box, 32MB, 2742T SCSI 2 controller on
Int 15 at 1c00 currently supporting 8 devices including a Jaz
drive (dev 5, ch 0), and a Toshiba 5401 cdrom (dev 6).

Probing entirely failed to detect the single device (Fuj 1GB) i
have on channel 1 -it detected the same (model) device on ch 0
just fine-, and complained bitterly about the Jaz drive--

sd5(ahc0:5:0): Illegal request asc:24,0 Invalid field in CDB
sd5 could not mode sense (4) using fictitious geometry
ahc0: board is not responding
cmd fail
sd5(ahc0:5:0) SCB 0x0 timed out while idel LASTPHASE == 1
SCSISIGI == 0 SEQADDR == 9
Queuing an abort....

-- til i removed the cart. Then it grumbled but moved on.

But the install consistently falls over dead with that "Illegal
host access" problem. This occurs after the sequence -

npx0 on motherboard
npx0: INT16 interface
apm0: disabled, not probed

Has this problem been seen before? I can't even decode that
cryptic "brkadrint" token, so i'm at a complete loss for a next
move. Anyone else? TIA.
