I have a Mac runing NetBSD linked to a laptop running FreeBSD. Right now
they're linked via Ethernet, but I have linked them thru serial ports using
PPP. Haven't tried to hard to link MacOS to either NetBSD or FreeBSD but I
know it can be done. In fact there are some very good documents that
described how to link MacOS (MacTCP and OT) to a *BSD system on:

<http://www.MacBSD.com>

There are even some excellent screen shots that show the setups required.
