The only significant hurdle is the ftime() function, which has a "clone" function in the SysV libraries supplied with C-News - you can use that one. (ftime() has been deprecated). Oh - I also had some problems with mawk (many of the C-news scripts use awk) which I eventually tracked down to the math emulation problems.
