We are using 386BSD 0.1 with Terry's patchkit installed and SMC Elite Plus 16 Ethernet Cards (WD8013 EPC). She has no-name 386SX/16 with Phoenix BIOS 8MB RAM and Optima VGA 512k (ET3000) and IDE-Controller with ST1144A Drive. My System is a 486/33 SIS-Chipset,256 k Cache, AMI-BIOS and 32MB RAM, Speedstar Plus HiColor, IDE-Controller with WD C2200 and ST1144A. The configuration of our Ethernet-adapters are the following: mine: IRQ 10, Base-Adr: 0x300, Mem-Adr: 0xcc000 SO's: IRQ 10, Base-Adr: 0x300, Mem-Adr: 0xd0000 I could use the hardware setting, while she had to do a soft configure 'cause both jumper settings caused problems. The first used IRQ3 (com2) the second couldn't map the memory at 0xcc000. We used the beta-patch kit from 04.oct.92 with the bug-fixes for the WD8013 and the comments showed that the REJECT xxxxx messages shouldn't appear at least after a warm boot. With my machine everything seems okay, but my SO is still getting REJECT messages even if she uses nearly the same kernel as me (except for the we0 device entry). If we ping each other, 12 packets are received and 17 rejected periodically. But only she gets the REJECT messages. Furthermore she gets REJECT mesgs when her machine is up and I boot mine and the network is started. Has someone out there a suggestion what the problem could be ? We are trying it for a week now, with building numerous kernels and little sleep . Please help, we are getting more desperate every day. Thanks in advance Jens (jj@Germany.EU.net)
