It is probably in a FAQ somewhere but I haven't been able to find it there either. I what to set up the user PPP program to provide packet aliasing between my network and the internet using my dial up account with a local isp. I have gotten the user PPP package to work in manual mode but not in automatic mode. I haven't even tried packet aliasing yet. Figure I have to get it up first. I am new to UNIX networking (been a user more then anything so far). Here is what I have so far: ISP uses dynamic IP addressing my network is 2 machines (will be 4) as: 192.0.0.1 (workstation) 192.0.0.2 (gateway to internet) I run "ppp -auto -alias pmdemand &" as root. Eventually it will go in /etc/rc.local I believe. When I try telnet (or other service) to start dialing it doesn't. If I run it manually then everything works. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ean Kingston (email: ean@interlog.com) http://www.interlog.com/~ean/ -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
