But I guess my comment about "Device Management Routines" wasn't very clear judging by the number of people that pointed this out to me. Let me try again: I remember trying to figure out what dmr and ken must have stood for back when I was looking at the V6 source code over 20 years ago (before learning about Ken Thompson and Dennis Ritchie).
