Then try ./a.out !
The leading "./" sequence means "execute what is HERE".
You probably dont have the "." in your PATH.

Without starting a thread about "should the dot be included in user's path?",
I just wanna say that it's quite easy to get used to strike ./ before the
name of your binary.  Two key strokes ain't the end of the world !
