All it did was reprompt me again saying that this was invalid. And the other time I tried it, the computer would boot into the installer. I am confused. I have on my first disk NT and dos. On the second disk I have, to the best of my knowledge, installed freebsd 2.1.7. During the installation, I get to the part where it asks me for what type of boot partition I want. I choose standard and then it prompts me for which hard dirve I wish to do this operation on and I choose the second hard disk, which is the one I am attempting to run freebsd off of. I want to be able to use the NT boot loader to boot between the the two disks. I have read the handbook and know how to copy the freeBSD boot sector onto a floppy etc.etc. But I can't boot into freebsd to do this stuff. I think I am doing everything correctly except for the part where I designate a boot record for freebsd. Am I supposed to check off both hard disks when I am telling it which hard disk to put the boot sector on? I am totally baffled. thanks. michael -- If you reply by email, remove the trailing X in my address
