When I telnet from one FreeBSD 2.2.1 system to another and try to use the Joe editor, all the screen is offset by one character. ie the cursor starts in the 2nd coloumn instead of the first and it mucks up the screen as you try and edit. However if I rlogin to the same system instead of telnet Joe works fine. I have tried this on several systems in all cases with the bash shell, and the TERM variable says cons25. Why should you get different terminal behaviour between rlogin and telnet? - Ernie. _____________________________________________________________________ Ernie Elu - ernie@eis.net.au - Brisbane - Australia "I ping, therefore I am." _____________________________________________________________________
