Ok here is the problem I have one sun 4/280 w/ two hard drives hooked up through the Xylogics 7053, about 900 MB each. 2 aui ethernet ports (ie0,ie1) VME scsi card (no hard drives or cdrom attached) 32 MB ram prestoserve (NVRAM to increase speed of NFS) cgtwo (it is a sun4 architecture, and pre sparcstation 1, I think) The computer currently has SunOS 4.1.4 installed The console has been marked as not secure so when I boot up in single user mode it asks me for a password, but because the person I got this from could not remeber the password, I cannot do much with it. a) For netbsd what format do the drives need to be. b) what do I format them with (how?) c) how do I get the miniroot onto the drives (so I can install the rest) The resouces I have are: blank 800 MB scsi hard drive mac IIci scsi Zip Drive 386 DX w/ blank 40 MB IDE hard drive BeBox and I have a direct internet connetion via my school Sincerely, G.K.
