I am running FreeBSD 3.0-970124-SNAP. This machine is acting
as the primary DNS for about 45 Windows95 workstations that are
on a 56K line to the internet. When the Win95 users turn on their
machines, I get the following annoying messages in /var/log/messages:

May 23 12:55:34 machinename /kernel: arplookup ip.address failed: host is not on l
ocal network
May 23 13:40:34 machinename /kernel: arplookup ip.address.X failed: host is not on l
ocal network
May 23 14:25:33 machinename /kernel: arplookup ip.address.XX failed: host is not on l
ocal network
May 23 15:03:24 machinename /kernel: arplookup ip.address.XXX failed: host is not on l
ocal network
May 23 15:06:40 machinename /kernel: arplookup ip.address.XX failed: host is not on l
ocal network

What is causing this?? I have read the man pages and understand the concept of
arp and the ethernet to ip address translation, but I don't understand why
FreeBSD is having a problem with it.

Any help would be appreciated!!
