Could you describe this a bit more detailed, please? Was the installation succesfull but now, booting from the hard disk, it doesn't find the cd-rom? That's normal for FreeBSD 2.1.x and IDE cd-roms. If yours is an IDE drive then you have to recompile the kernel (see lynx /usr/share/doc/handbook/handbook.html for step-by-step instructions) with these lines in the kernel configuration file: options ATAPI #Enable ATAPI support for IDE bus device wcd0 #IDE CD-ROM Or didn't the installation program find the cd-rom drive? In this case, what did the error messages on the second console (ALT-F2) say? If your cd-rom is a SCSI drive though, then I don't know what could be wrong :-( Bye, Philipp -- P.
