If you are having trouble using CVSup, it's most effective to write
to <cvsup-bugs@polstra.com>. I rarely read this newsgroup, but I
happened to stumble across this message.

In article <864678781.10196.1.nnrp-2.c2dec490@news.demon.co.uk>,

Delete them and start over, after studying the tutorial in the
FreeBSD Handbook :-)

    http://www.freebsd.org/handbook/cvsup.html

... especially section 16.3.2.3 "Configuration".

By default, CVSup gives you the RCS files from the CVS repository.
If you want to get the sources for a particular version or branch,
then you have to specify a value for the "tag" keyword in your
cvsupfile.

If you want FreeBSD-current, specify "tag=.". If you want
2.2-stable, specify "tag=RELENG_2_2". Other possibilities are
listed in the Handbook.

You might also wish to take a look at up-to-date copies of the
example cvsupfiles in "/usr/share/examples/cvsup".

The man pages are reasonably complete and accurate, though
perhaps the important information is less accessible than it ought
to be. Specific suggestions and/or patches are welcomed at
<cvsup-bugs@polstra.com>.
