I had severe problems with a 2940 based machine under 2.1.7 - it would lock under heavy loads (dumping to a DAT), unbatching news, or even when loading X. Now, with the system patched up to src-2.1 303 (which is somewhat more recent than 2.1.7.1), it works well. I did have to revert to this kernel: FreeBSD 2.1.6-RELEASE #0: Sun Nov 24 23:31:18 1996 to do the make world. -- Adrian Wontroba, Stade Computers Limited. phone: (+44) 121 373 9546 Mail info@accu.org for information about the Association of C and C++ Users or see <http://www.accu.org/>
