Thanks for your answers. Indeed, the strange message about "ahc0:A:5"
was related to the CD-ROM unit, which is a narrow SCSI device. I
disabled the "wide negotation" in the SCSI BIOS, and that message
dissapeared. The transfers with the Seagate Barracuda HD are 16-bit
wide, no problems.
