Only in this group (or a comp.unix.*) would this discussion digress from building a list of UNIX abbreviations to a heated debate over which term properly describes whatever it is we are talking about. Relax, everyone. What if someone pronounces "su" as "soo", "vi" and "vye" ? Personally, I pronounce say "remove" when I am referring to "rm" and "copy" when I refer to "cp". Time to go back to work on "ooh en eye ex" :-) -jon
