I have a 1 Gig Exabyte Tape drive (SCSI) in my BSD 2.1 server. I have been
using MC3000XL tapes purchased through Exabyte and they have been working
fine, I have purchased a new box and when trying to dump I get the
following:

esmerelda# dump 0ufB /dev/nrst1 10000000 /
DUMP: Date of this level 0 dump: Tue Jun 10 17:04:46 1997
DUMP: Date of last level 0 dump: the epoch
  DUMP: Dumping /dev/rwd0a (/) to /dev/nrst1
DUMP: mapping (Pass I) [regular files]
  DUMP: mapping (Pass II) [directories]
DUMP: estimated 7919 tape blocks on 0.00 tape(s).
  DUMP: dumping (Pass III) [directories]
st1: media error: medium format corrupted
  DUMP: End of tape detected
st1: media error: medium format corrupted
st1: media error: medium format corrupted
  DUMP: Closing /dev/nrst1
st1: media error: medium format corrupted
DUMP: Change Volumes: Mount volume #2
DUMP: Is the new volume mounted and ready to go?: ("yes" or "no") n
DUMP: Do you want to abort?: ("yes" or "no") y
DUMP: The ENTIRE dump is aborted.

I have a feeling it is because the tapes are QIC-3020 formatted. Is there
anyway to reformat these tapes for use with dump?

Thanks!
