I only understand part of what is going on in these Makefiles, but I
solved the same problem a while ago on FreeBSD 2.1.5 / qpopper2.2 by
copying the file /usr/src/lib/libcrypt/crypt.c to the directory where I
had the qpopper source. Compiled again and it went fine.
