Apologies for posting such a trivial question,
but, for some reason, I can't get truecolor
configured correctly. By default, I get 8 bpp,
but I have not been able to edit the config
file and/or invoke the server correctly for
truecolor at higher resolutions. I have not
found the right man pages or FAQ info for this.

AFAIK, I should actually be able to get 1280x1024 truecolor
with the #9 Motion 771, but, it appears that the X server
may be limited to 1024 x 768. Am I reading the man pages
correctly? And, in any case, I could only get it to work
with 640x480, not 1024 x 768. Pointers, anyone, to exactly
what I need in the XF86* configuration file(s) to get
truecolor 1024 x 768?

Environment: FreeBSD 2.2.1 installation with default
XFree86 installation.
