`akros' can mean peak, but it can also mean ``at the beginning'' or even
``at the end''. Here are some examples:

akrolithos - statue with with stone (`lithos') head, hands, and feet;
  i.e. ``stones at the ends'' (cf English `acrolith')
akronychos - at sunset; `nyx' means night, so this literally means
  ``beginning of the night'' (cf English `acronical')
akrostichos - a verse (`stichos') in which first or last letters in each line
  spell out something (cf English `acrostic')
