Am I reading the man pages (and so on) Many thanks to those who replied. It turned out that the configuration utility, while it seems to do most everything else correctly, set the "VideoRam" line in the device section to commented out. That is, it was correctly set to the appropriate video memory size that I specified, (different for the two cards I am working with), but, the line was commented out. Apparently it assumes 1 MB by default. So, by uncommenting "VideoRam 4096" in the Device section, it now works fine. -- Hugh LaMaster, M/S 258-5, ASCII Email: hlamaster@mail.arc.nasa.gov NASA Ames Research Center Or: lamaster@nas.nasa.gov Moffett Field, CA 94035-1000 No Junkmail: USC 18 section 2701 Phone: 415/604-1056 Disclaimer: Unofficial, personal *opinion*.
