Only one type of 3Com card (the 3c503) - the more generally encountered
3Com products actually probe with the ep driver. Are you sure of this
one?

Hmmm. That's definitely weird - it sure would be nice to know exactly
which driver triggers this. It would definitely help us to narrow the
search. Are you up to a little regression testing, perhaps? :)

Hmmmm. Sorry to doubt you, but are you *positive* that you didn't get
overzealous here? Maybe deleted npx0 or sc0 or something positively
vital like that?

Yeah, this basically all falls out of the distribution/package merger, a
project which has always been on my TODO list but which has also awaited
my rewriting of the package tools to overcome several core problems
which make the current ones unsuitable for this. Life being what it is,
that process has dragged out far longer than hoped.

The project is now starting to gain more momentum, though I'm not making
any predictions on release dates just yet. Suffice it to say that
sysinstall's days are definitely numbered, even if it got an undesirable
2 year reprieve on its originally scheduled date of demise. :)
