I am confused by HP's web site specs at http://www.hp.com/tape/dat8.html They do not mention which unit should be purchased for PC based UNIX machines (specifically, freebsd). Basically, there are 2-units, one for PCs and the other for Unix, but I am confused, since I do not know which one to pick for PC based Unix: HP SureStore DAT8e, 8 GB* external DAT drive for PC, part# C1529G HP SureStore DAT8eU, 8 GB* external DAT drive for UNIX, part# C1552B Also, can someone help tell me what kind of a SCSI connector will be needed on the tape drive side ? 50 or 68, mini/big, centronics ? The specs say that it has a single ended SCSI-2 interface. What does that mean (how many pins would that be) ? Will this tape drive work with Adaptec 2940UW SCSI card ? Your (reliable) email response will be very helpful. -------------------==== Posted via Deja News ====----------------------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Post to Usenet
