[I'm using FreeBSD 2.2.1. I have more dumb
newbie questions. I would kind of like
to get FreeBSD configured to use as an
MBone platform [it seems very well configured
as is for straight Unix/server things]. So,
that means X, video in windows, sound play,
and eventually video capture, sound send.]

I have an SB16 PnP, and, I had to install the PnP patch/
mods in order to get in to work (on IRQ 5 - it seemed
to be confused about whether it was on IRQ 7 or 5).
Now, it works, but, the audio out quality via vat
is pretty scratchy.

If there are other vat/mbone users out there:

Is this a driver problem or an audio library
problem or a vat problem or ...?
Any fixes?

Also, the vat volume control doesn't work.
Is this a vat problem, a Tk problem, a driver
problem, or ...?
Fixes?

Also, it seemed to crash the X server once.
This system has a #9 Motion 771 FX PCI card.
Are there any likely conflicts there?

Also, has the PnP patch been incorporated in
subsequent releases (at level - ?). Have
there been driver or audio library mods
in subsequent releases (at level - ?)

Sorry if these questions are silly, but hopefully
in the future I will be able to ask more informed
questions.
