Get an updated version of the port.  It is likely that you are
using an older one (like the one around when 2.2.2 came out, I think)
which is broken.

Try getting a new copy of the port from

	ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports-current/mail/popper/
