Hi,

I'm trying to get FreeBSD 2.2.1 up and running on a Toshiba Tecra 700
Laptop. I have the OS loaded but, I cannot get Xfree86 running or
the 3COM PCMCIA, 3C589, ethernet card to work.

XFree complains about my mouse, I chose the PS2 style mouse and
/dev/mouse
is linked to /dev/psm0. On bootup FreeBSD says that psm is disabled.
There seems to be an entry for it in the kernel. I've tried rebuilding
the kernel but I'm not having any success with the ps2 mouse. Perhaps
this isn't the right choice? I don't know. Has anyone got Xfree
working
on a Toshiba 700 laptop?

Also, I can't get FreeBSD to recognize the 3COM PCMCIA ethernet card.
Upon bootup, I can see that its probed and appears to be associated
with device ze0 but, I cannot ifconfig it up. ifconfig says there
is no such device and there is no /dev/ze0 file. I'd appreciate
Any pointers any pointers in this area as well.

thanks
John Rushford
