It is attached as a slave on wdc1 (I also have 3 IDE disks). When the CD is attached, FreeBSD fails to detect wdc1 (hence the third disk as well). However, FreeBSD works with the older (2x) Vertos 300SSD IDE CDrom which used to be in that box. Has anyone gotten FreeBSD to work with the Diamond Data CDrom? If so, was it hanging off a motherboard IDE port, or a sound card? Did it work as a master but not as a slave? (etc) Cheers, Mike. ps: anyone know where I can find the appropriate ATAPI and/or PC IDE controller specs? I've trolled through the probe routine for wdc1, but without the appropriate manuals, can't decide what to fiddle with :) -- Mike McGaughey AARNET: mmcg@cs.monash.edu.au "Thousands at his bidding speed, And post o'er land and ocean without rest" - Milton.
