Yep. Things can "flake out" like this. Your best bet
with such a big jump (if you'd realized :) is to do a
"make -k world", check for errors and if you got any,
do another "make world". You may even want to do the
-k bit on the second build.
Now I'm having the opposite problem. I'm trying to
build a 2.1.7 machine from sources on a 2.2.2 one.
I guess I should have tried making "release" and
doing it properly :(
Too late for that now. My network interfaces all
say "permission denied" when I try to sendto() !

You should be able to just change your source. The sup
followed by a "cvs update" will merge any differences
into your changed code.
You can also "cvs diff -c thechangedfile".
