Regarding the underlying drive itself, the 1533A works fine with FreeBSD2.1.5R. I haven't tried it with more modern releases, and can't speak to the entire SureStore system. : : Will this tape drive work with Adaptec 2940UW SCSI card ? : : No. The Adaptec 2940UW is a fast wide SCSI card. The SureStore is a SCSI-2 : device. I would add that the SureStore is a damn nice tape machine. We here Please whisper stuff like that. My 2940UW seems to work beautifully with the 1533A, knock wood. Came up right out of the box with the stock ahc driver. Cabling was a real drag though.
