I was able to get the IDE Cdrom on my 755CD working w/ FreeBSD as follows:

0) Copy fbsdboot and install kernel to dos drive c:
1) remove jumper S5 from CDROM (No idea what this does, trial&error!)
2) Power up the system, boot dos w/ F5, don't load the cdrom driver as this
confuses the drive and FreeBSD will not recognize it.
3) run fbsdboot -D kernel.ide (or just kernel if no special ide kernel)

			Good Luck,
